Add/update benefits screen

This screen allows you to enter a recurring or single benefit payments to a client's benefit account, along with a narrative describing the benefit in detail. These benefits are used to offset the cost of the child’s care during the benefit payment date range.

Fields on this screen

Benefit Type	The system defaults to the account type you selected.
Payment Type	Select the method by which the payment is made, for example, cash, check, or money order.
Benefit Payment Begin Date	Enter the date on which benefit payments begin. Use the format MM/DD/YYYY. This field is required. For example, if a Social Security check amount applied to the time period of 11/01/2005 to 11/31/05 and was received on 11/03/2005, the benefit payment date would be 11/01/2005.
Payment Number	Enter the check number or warrant number.
Benefit Payment End Date	Enter the date on which benefit payments end. Use the format MM/DD/YYYY. For example, if a Social Security check amount applied to the time period of 11/01/2005 to 11/31/05 and was received on 11/03/2005, the payment end date would be 11/31/2005.
Pay Date	Enter the date the agency received the payment in the mail. (Most agencies stamp the check, record it, and deposit it on the same day.)
Transaction Type	Select the type of transaction. This field is required.
Amount	Enter the amount of the payment.
Transaction Date	Enter the date the type of transaction was completed, for example, the date the check was deposited. Use the format MM/DD/YYYY.
Description	Enter a description of the transaction. You can enter up to 600 characters.
